So if you like Bioshock go see Snowpiercer. It’s basically the next Bioshock game but as a movie and it’s awesome!
So I’ve seen a few people do this an I totally want to jump on the bandwagon and share my own media consumption. Maybe it will help you guys learn a bit more about me in the process.
Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014)
As a fan of the first two Transformer movies (and as a fan of robots in general), this one really got on my nerves. The pacing was really bad, it was way too long, the human characters were oh so pointless. But the new Transformers… ugh. They were all SO lame aside from John Goodman’s character. Flat stereotypes that made no sense (random Samurai Transformer that uses haikus?) and their designs made me really uncomfortable. Why must we put human faces on robots? With each movie they have more pronounced human facial features and I’m just like “WHY?!” Anyways, enough about that.
Tad, the Lost Explorer (2012)
This movie wasn’t as bad as I expected it to be. The overall quality was great and the 2D sequences blew my mind! But horrible voice acting and generic character designs made it kind of disappointing. Especially after seeing how awesome the two 2D sequences were.
How to Train Your Dragon 2 (2014)
This was just amazing. See it before anything gets spoiled and just enjoy the ride, guys.
The Icarus Kid by The Icarus Kid (2010)
As someone who loves 8-bit and chip tunes music I found this album delightful from start to finish. And hearing some of the unique twists on classic Nintendo music (because it’s really hard to find Nintendo remixes that start out because thats what EVERYONE does when they first try to get into chip-tunes) really made me happy. Hope this person continues to make more music.
We Can Fix It! by Jess Fink (2013)
A very well written tale of a girl from the future who goes back in time to relive all her sexiest experiences only to find out that they were more awkward then she remembers. This book is hilarious. And I think most of us can relate to some of the subject matter. Can’t wait to check out Jess Fink’s other books.
Scott Pilgrim vs The World 1 & 2 Evil Edition
I’ve been looking for an excuse to revisit this series for awhile. And seeing the Evil Editions at Heroes Con gave me that excuse. Scott Pilgrim and JTHM are the two things that got me super into indie comics and seeing this in full color was just breath taking. The art is vibrant and accents the tone of the comic so well. Also it’s just a fucking awesome book. If you haven’t read this yet what the fuck are you even doing?
Borderlands (2009) (PS3)
I’ve actually been playing this game for a couple years. On the verge of platinuming it and will be enjoying the “Pre-Sequal” very soon. This game mixes first person shooting and RPG elements in the perfect way and, in my opinion, has some of the best online and split screen multiplayer.
Mario Kart 8 (2014) (Wii U)
Ya’ll know the deal. This is Mario Kart. It’s fun as shit. Nuff said.
